On the third Tuesday of the month, Venture Café Night: 39°N unites entrepreneurs, scientists and innovators to collaborate and learn at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
Programming will be curated around a variety of topics from food and energy security to sustainability to big data and machine learning.
Check out the lineup for Tuesday, January 16:
First demo: 4 pm – 4:30 pm indoors with mini drones, McDonnell Atrium
Second demo: 5 pm – 5:30 pm outdoors with LED-light drones, Miller Terrace
Q&A session: 6 pm – 7:00 pm, in the Mary and Oliver Langenberg Theater
FPV racing takes a pilot from the sticks of a radio control transmitter and puts them in the cockpit of a high-speed racing drone with the use of video transmission and immersive FPV goggles. You will be able to take a ride in the pilot’s seat by watching the drone’s video feed on a television screen or through a set of FPV goggles.

Blockchain in Food Safety & Chain of Custody | SaniTrace 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Mary and Oliver Langenberg Theater
Join an interactive panel discussion about blockchain technology! Helix Center startup SaniTrace, in partnership with Amazon Web Services, Intel, and Twilio, will launch one of the first production-grade blockchain data services for food safety, and for chain of custody inventory management.
Maximizing your Venture Cafe Night: 39°N Experience | VenCafe Volunteers 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm, Schnucks Conference Room
We have seen and talked to many first-timers that were told to come to Venture Cafe but seem lost, overwhelmed or just unsure who to talk to and where to start. This session is for those attending a Venture Cafe Gathering for the first, second or third time to gather with VenCafe volunteers to learn about the resources, opportunities and programming offered in order to maximize the experience.
Calling all Volunteers! Venture Cafe Nights don’t just happen on their own. Besides the Venture Cafe staff, a team of six to eight volunteers help produce the magic. If you like telling the story through the creation of digital content, or greeting people as they visit, or serving up a drink to a thirsty innovators learn more here about volunteer opportunities.
