On the third Tuesday of the month, Venture Café Night: 39°N gatherings at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center facilitate serendipitous collisions that drive creativity, foster collaboration and stimulate investment in innovation.

The Anatomy of a Patent| Inventors Association of St. Louis

Reading and understanding a patent can be daunting. Learn about the key parts of a patent from an attorney who taught Anatomy of a Patent at SLU in 2004. Gain knowledge about the requirements for and meaning of drawings, specifications, dependent/independent claims, prior art, and more.
Business Development and Finance| St. Louis Economic Development Partnership

The St. Louis Economic Partnership’s Business Development and Finance teams will be available to answer questions and provide attendees with tools and knowledge to grow and enhance a startup.
Innovation City Podcast Taping| SLAM Agency & Venture Cafe St. Louis
5:00 – 7:00 pm, Café SLAM! has partnered with Venture Cafe Global, St. Louis and Miami to produce Innovation City, a podcast featuring the people behind the innovation movement.

Overwhelmed, unsure about who to talk to and where to start to get the most from Venture Café? This session is aimed at people attending for the first, second or third time to:
(1) hear about the resources, opportunities and programming offered;
(2) identify goals and expectations about what to gain by attending; and
(3) find ways to connect to the right person or, at least, get started on the right path.
Mindfulness for Innovators| Vibrantly Mindful

Learn more about how consistent mindfulness is developed as well as how to care for ourselves through our awakening into mindfulness.
How to Sell and License Your Product and Avoid Mistakes During the New Product Production Stage| Inventors Association of St. Louis
6:30 – 7:30 pm, Mary and Oliver Langenberg Theater
Curious about the difference between licensing vs. self-production of a new product? Learn tips for how to approach potential licensees (retailers, major brands, big box stores, etc.) and how to best structure your sales pitch to be IMPACTFUL to secure a deal! Gain valuable insight from a prototype developer about the manufacturing and production side of a new product launch and learn the common (and avoidable) mistakes inventors make during the prototyping stage.
Calling all Volunteers! Venture Cafe Nights don’t just happen on their own. In addition to Venture Cafe staff, a team of six to eight volunteers help produce the magic of these gatherings.
